JBAD

JBAD is an award-winning architecture and design firm with a commitment to contemporary design, community engagement and a collaborative culture that promotes learning and research. Ibel Agency has worked with this Columbus-based firm since 2000, developing the company's brand, sales collateral and website. The 2016 website redesign for JBAD won a Gold ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation.

Brand

In conjunction with the launch of their new website, JBAD came to Ibel in 2017 to create a refreshed look for their brand. We kept the basic structure of the square logo while updating the type to a more modern, architectural font. A new color palette, made up of mostly grays, creates a neutral backdrop that emphasizes JBAD’s vibrant building imagery. The orange that was previously incorporated in the brand continues to provide a pop of color to highlight specific information.

Award Winner

The modern, clean design of this site features large, vibrant project photos of buildings designed by Jonathan Barnes Architecture and Design. By creating a minimalistic, mostly neutral look and feel for the JBAD brand, the projects speak for themselves. A structured grid system complements the imagery with detailed information about each project and a pop of orange leads the user to action points. This site also features a filtering system that allows visitors to search by project type or keyword and an archive for both the blog and resources sections. The site won a 2016 Gold ADDY Award by the American Advertising Federation.
